Kusum Maurya, a resident of Raipur village in Wazirganj, development block of Gonda district, is preparing Amla candy at her home. She has been doing this work for the last one year and is getting a turnover of about 3 to 4 lakh rupees annually.
Kusum Maurya told Local18 that the process of making Amla candy is quite easy. The first gooseberry is washed thoroughly by breaking the tree. It is then boiled and cut into small pieces and dried into a dry machine.
After this, it is immersed in sugar syrup and then dried and added sugar from above. After this, candy is packed in small coaches, so that it can stay safe for more days and reach customers easily.
Kusum Maurya told Local18 that she studied up to BA, but later left her studies and started taking care of her family. Meanwhile, he came to know about the self -help group and joined it. After this, he started the business of making Amla Candy.
Kusum Maurya says that his Amla candy is supplied in other districts besides Gonda. His demand for candy is high and it is available in both offline and online methods.
Kusum Maurya is getting a turnover of 3 to 4 lakh rupees annually from this business. Along with this, they are also providing employment to 10 to 12 women, so that they can become self -sufficient and strengthen their financial condition.
Kusum Maurya further said that if a person eats 2 amla candy on an empty stomach every day, then the problems related to the stomach can be overcome. Amla helps to protect our body from many diseases and also makes immunity strong.
Amla candy is not only delicious, but the vitamin C, antioxidants and other nutrients present in it are very beneficial for the body. This is the reason that its demand is increasing continuously and people are including it in their daily diet.
