Actually, in the early days of independence, 5000 and 10000 rupee notes were in trend in India. 1000 rupee notes were issued in 1954. In 1978, the then Prime Minister Morarji Desai withdrew the three notes due to low demand for these notes.

Traders believe that since the closure of 2000 rupee notes in India, there has been some inconvenience in trade and financial transactions. Currently, the highest price note in India is 500 rupees. This is causing inconvenience to the large scale cash transactions.

In this case, from time to time, there is news on the Internet that the Reserve Bank will soon print and release a 5000 rupee note. Since the shutdown of 2000 rupee notes, some news about new notes on social media is becoming viral.

In such a situation, the news that is being spread that the RBI will issue a note of 5000 rupee, is not 100 percent true. Currently, the biggest note in circulation is 500 rupee note. RBI has made it clear that this note is suitable for the current financial system.

The central government is giving many incentives to promote digital payments. In this context, RBI sources said that there is no truth in this claim that 5000 rupee notes will be issued. The RBI has also said that people should pay attention to the officially announced information and should not rely on social media rumors.
