This city is Meerut. Recently, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a new gift to this city by worshiping the first Integrated Township of Meerut. The city, which is going ahead under Sustainable Urban Planning, has already been a strong part of NCR, but now the major changes in the infrastructure here are going to make it a great city for modern lifestyle. The special thing is that the facility of connectivity in this city is so good, as is not in any other city of NCR.
Meerut is the only city of NCR that is connected to the five major expressways. These are Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Greenfield, Ganga Expressway, Defense Corridor and Eastern Peripheral. Along with this, Namo Bharat Rapid Rail is running in Meerut which runs on the Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor. This 82 km long corridor connects Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut. When it is completely operational, it will take only 55 minutes to reach Delhi from Meerut. It takes so much time to reach Ghitori from Mayur Vihar in Delhi. At the same time, Meerut Metro is also going to start from August 2025.
Direct connectivity with Jewar Airport is providing international facility to this city. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar airstrip located in Partapur area of Meerut district is spread about 9 km from Gagol village. This airstrip, built on 47 acres, is currently being used for only chartered (non-infused) flights. In February 2014, there was an agreement on its development between the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Indian Airport Authority (AAI). Now efforts to develop it have intensified.
This integrated township of Meerut is being built close to the RRTS line in Partapur area. In this project, residential, commercial, industrial and recreational zones will be in the same campus. People will also work with living and all the necessary facilities of life will be present there. This walk will be based on two work and the concept of Green Living. This project based on transit oriented development model will also be special because it is in a few cities of the country and it has to increase public transport and reduce dependence on private vehicles, make affordable housing and pollution free cities.
