Satna. The Prime Minister’s Micro Food Industry Upgradation Scheme (PM-FME) has been created with the aim of providing financial, technical and commercial assistance to small and medium food processing enterprises. Under this scheme, eligible enterprises are provided with loan-linked subsidy, technical assistance and interest in interest under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund (AIF).

In this scheme, microscopic enterprises are given many benefits such as loan-linked capital subsidy (up to 35% of eligible project cost), loan facility (loan up to Rs 10 lakh), interest assistance (3% interest rate under AIF), technical assistance in which product and procedure development, design of equipment, design, better storage, improvement, improvement, improvement, improvement, etc.

Implementation of scheme in Satna and Maihar
Rural Upgradation Extension Officer Sudha Patel told Local 18 that the scheme was launched till 2025 in 2019-20 and now it has been extended by 2026. So far 30 units have been constructed under this scheme in Satna and Maihar areas. The district upgradation department inspects these units and sends the report regularly to Bhopal.

Application process and eligibility

Applications can be made through both online and offline mediums to avail the scheme.
– Online Application: On PMFME portal.
– Offline application: In the upgradation office of the nearest development block.

There are the following eligibility conditions to apply
– The age of the applicant should be between 18 and 40 years old.
– Applicant should not be pensioners or taxpayers.
– There is no prior loan outstanding on the applicant.

Sudha Patel said that due to this scheme, there has been a boost in the regional food processing industries. Through these units, not only employment has increased at the local level, but farmers of Satna and Maihar are also benefiting.
